Do I love you? My God, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches.”
William Goldman, The Princess Bride

This story felt like a fairytale becoming real. R + J didn’t just celebrate their love , they lived it, fully present, savouring every second like a moment they already knew they’d want to hold onto forever. Light brushed the stone walls, laughter filled the gardens, and everything unfolded so naturally it felt less like a wedding and more like a love story simply becoming true. Cinematic, editorial, timeless… but above all, beautifully real, personal, and overflowing with heart.
Truly each other’s lobster, in the most effortless, unforgettable way.
Engagement Session in Dean Village
Before the wedding, we met in person during one of their planning trips to Edinburgh. Those pre-wedding meetings are never really just meetings, they’re excited conversations over coffee, the kind where plans are shared with sparkly eyes and you can already feel the day taking shape. This one felt just like that. Easy, warm, familiar. Like friends catching up and dreaming out loud together.
It was winter in Edinburgh, beautifully moody and poetic, so it felt obvious to step outside and create a few memories right there, in the city they already loved. We chose Dean Village for their engagement session. The stillness of the streets, the soft reflections over the water, the gentle winter light… everything invited intimacy over posing, and real moments over perfection.
Engagement sessions like this are more than pretty photos. They’re the space where couples stop feeling watched and start feeling themselves. Where cameras become invisible, nerves melt away, and connection finally takes centre stage. Where romance isn’t directed, it just happens.
A Love Story Told by Two Perspectives
From the beginning, R + J knew their wedding day, even with an intimate number of guest, would hold many layers, little moments happening simultaneously, emotions unfolding in different corners. It was the kind of day that deserved to be told from more than one angle, with more than one heartbeat behind the lens.
Having two photographers isn’t just about coverage. It’s about presence. About depth. About being able to document a love story in full, without interrupting it. Couples often tell us it makes everything feel calmer, lighter, more natural and for us, it’s the way we can capture a wedding as it truly feels: cinematic, honest, and alive.
That morning, Patricia was with Raha in the Spring Room at Dundas Castle, where the day began the right way: music, laughter, dresses, makeup brushes, and the kind of giddy energy only a wedding morning carries.Just a few steps downstairs, Krzys was capturing Jeffrey getting ready with his sons, guided proudly by Roddie the bagpiper, who made sure every kilt was tied, adjusted, and worn properly like real Scottish way.
Different rooms. Different moments. The same story beginning to unfold and perfectly connected. A Romantic Wedding at Dundas Castle
Raha walked down the stairs in her Sareh Nouri gown looking every bit like the main character in a love story book. The first person she revealed herself to was her father, a quiet moment, tender and powerful, the kind that says everything without needing words. A breath. A hug. A pause before the rest of the world came rushing in with bagpipes and happy tears.
The ceremony took place in the Auld Keep, surrounded by ancient stone, family, and the kind of emotion you can almost reach out and touch. With florals by Stockbridge Flower Company, in soft white and violet tones, the couple beautifully intertwined Persian and Jewish traditions, adding personal little sparks along the way, including playful references to their favourite 90s show.
Portraits & Real Meaningful Moments
We explored the castle gardens and stone corridors for portraits that felt effortless, romantic, and cinematic, quiet moments filled with connection and calm, with the action captured in movement with Danny & Ryan from TLC media films, creating a real movie from the feeling. Later, the celebration unfolded through sentimental and personal speeches, dancing, and joyful chaos in the Croquet Room and Main Hall, where the day turned into pure warmth and movement untin the late sunset closet the story.
Being a couple ourselves means we understand the weight of choosing someone, the beauty of celebrating love, the quiet magic in the in-betweens and we take it personal. Maybe that’s why weddings like this stay with us. Because they aren’t just photographed, they’re felt. This one reminded us, all over again, why we do this job. For the quiet glances. The unfiltered laughter. The electric tiny seconds that live between breaths. The moments that deserve to last forever.
So greatful to have the chance to meet this woonderful people and capture their unreal story! R + J
